Herzl R. Spiro, MD, PhD, DFAPA, is a 1960-graduate of The Robert Larner MD College of Medicine at The University of Vermont in Burlington, VT. His postgraduate training includes his internship in internal medicine at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center in New York (1960-1961) and his residency in psychiatry at The Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD (1961-1964). Dr. Spiro completed his undergraduate education, i.e., his Bachelor of Arts degree, at the University of Vermont in 1955. In 1975, he received his PhD degree in Psychology from Rutgers University. Dr. Spiro attained board certification in psychiatry with the American Board of Psychiatry. Furthermore, he is a Distinguished 50 Year Life Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association. Earlier in his career, Dr. Spiro helped organize medical care for Rev King’s marches and served the Jewish Agency Absorption Committee for 20 years. For more information about Herzl R.
